Building for success as some of the participants at the recent Taylor-Wimpey plc Graduate Induction Training learn to work together on a varied set of challenges
Date: 08 September 2009
Taylor Wimpey plc is a dedicated homebuilding company with operations in the UK, North America, Spain and Gibraltar.
One of their key events each year in the UK is their Graduate Induction Programme where a select band of Postgraduates who have come through their recruitment process receive their first experience of Taylor Wimpey as employees.
Each individual goes through a rigorous three year programme and is exposed to all areas of the business. These people are the future managers and directors of the company - hence the importance of the event.
The initial part of their programme involves a two week training programme, featuring guest speakers and visits to different regional offices to learn all about the business.
The Motiv8 team was bought in to host the vital first two days of the programme. This consisted of a series of Motiv8 designed team building activities where they learned to work with their new colleagues.
Very important subjects such as communication skills, gathering information, setting objectives and giving and receiving feedback were also covered. This was designed to enable the new employees to take advantage of the rest of the upcoming training.
The event was held at Highgate House in Northamptonshire and we utilised the wonderful grounds and activities available there.
A combination of the great venue, extremely willing and participative employees and Motiv8's organisation and enthusiasm produced an outcome described by Taylor-Wimpey's HR Manager, Russ Brittain as an "excellent and worthwhile two days".
Motiv8 will be providing further support to Taylor-Wimpey in the near future so look out for further news!
